Owner
Dr. Carter earned degrees from both Duke University and the University of Central Florida prior to graduating from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. From the beginning of veterinary school, Dr. Carter knew she wanted to focus on cats! She was an Associate Veterinarian with Cat Care Clinic from 2007-2010 and loved working in a cat-only hospital. Life took her back home to NC but she returned to Ormond Beach in 2014 to purchase Cat Care Clinic. In 2018, Dr. Carter earned the credentials of “Board Certified Feline Specialist” as a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She and Dr. Nixon are currently the only veterinarians in the state of Florida who are ABVP board-certified in Feline Practice. When she’s not taking care of her feline patients at Cat Care Clinic, Dr. Carter is writing about cat-related topics on her blog, CatVetLife. Take a look! She lives with her husband Kenny (who is the Practice Manager), her two young children Cotton and August, their two black cats Sioux and Biscuit, an orange cat named Bacon, and a brown dog named Pete the Cat. She loves college football, seeking out good BBQ (Memphis or Eastern NC style), listening to bluegrass, and living near the beach.
